Joukkomurha Tapes

The Finland-based Joukkomurha [Engl. Mass Murder or Massacre] Products or Tapes or, as the label was later smoothly rechristened, JM-tapes, produced cassette-only albums and compilations of music and odd bits of sound from Ohio to Okinawa from 1989 to around 1998. There were more than 70 releases within those 9 years of angst, madness and creativity! Nowadays the period and its media seem almost historic and would need a well qualified intendent to go through all the relics with the utmost care… The magnetotapes of Horde…

We aim to rejuvenate some of the past on these pages… at least to find all the pieces that are left and maybe gather some of the soundscape itself on these pages! The nostalgia! Mostly the sound quality of these recordings demands the exact media: the MC, magnetic cassette… But it is certainly interesting to hear what the digitalisation will bring… Keep looking!
